Remove background from Google AdSense

If you’re having issues with Google Adsense being displayed with a background, especially when you selected a white/specific background, it is because of the styling in your theme.
This is because of styling for the ins tags in your stylesheet. Google inserts the ads in your website using the ins tag. In order to get this fixed, you’ll need to modify the stylesheet of your theme/template.

Most of the times, it would be named style.css. You will have to open it and find the ins tag and set background property to none.

In WordPress, you can find the stylesheet by accessing wp-root-directory/wp-contents/themes/your-theme-name/style.css

For example, if you find the properties as such in style.css:

ins {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    border: 0;
    background:#FFFFCC;
}

You’ll need to replace the #FFFFCC with none. As follows:

ins {
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    border: 0;
    background:none;
}

If you’re having difficulty finding the ins tag, or if its missing in the main stylesheet, just add the following at the end of the stylesheet:

ins {
    background:none;
}
